Company Eligibility

To be eligible for Springboard business acceleration, your company must:

• be a Tasmanian based science or technology company;
• be a new initiative or be at an early stage of development. Its focus must be on the commercialisation of an innovative product or service;
• have clearly defined goals and a proposed pathway to achieving those goals;
• have management with sufficient drive, enthusiasm and time to focus on the opportunity;
• be able to demonstrate that it has the potential for significant employment, exports, import replacement, investment or technology diffusion; and
• demonstrate a high level of innovation.

According to Tasmanian’s Science and Technology Policy:

• Science is defined as the systematic acquisition and dissemination of knowledge about our natural and human environment.
• Technology is defined as the application of knowledge for the creation of new or improved products, processes or systems.

Science and technology companies are those for which the majority of business activity results from the application of the above knowledge.
